Learn more about the enrollment process for California Medicaid as a Grow Therapy provider.

Grow Therapy does not allow providers to bill directly with Medicare or Medicaid. Instead, Grow works with Managed Care plans, which require separate enrollment processes from the state. If you choose to enroll with and see Medicare or Medicaid clients, Grow automatically enrolls you with the Managed Care plans available in your licensed state(s).

Will I automatically be enrolled with California Medi-Cal?

No, Grow Therapy will only enroll a provider with California Medi-Cal if:

  • You meet all Connecticut Medicaid requirements.

  • You have informed Grow Therapy you are interested in working with Medicaid clients. You can update your Medicaid preferences here.

What provider types are eligible for enrollment with California Medi-Cal?

All Grow Therapy provider types are eligible for enrollment with California Medi-Cal through Grow Therapy.

What documentation does the California Medi-Cal application require?

  • Current/active malpractice insurance (not expiring within 60 days of application submission)

  • Current/active professional license number

  • Copy of Driver’s License or Social Security card

  • Active Individual NPI

How is the application submitted?

Once the Grow Therapy Credentialing Team has received all applicable documents or information, we will submit your application through the Provider Application and Validation for Enrollment (PAVE) portal.

Does a new application need to be submitted if I've previously credentialed with California Medi-Cal?

Yes. Even if you previously enrolled with California Medi-Cal before joining Grow Therapy, the team must submit a request to affiliate you with Grow Therapy. In this case, your request will be more simplified and expedited versus enrolling with California Medi-Cal as a new provider.

I was told I would receive an email notifying me to E-sign my PAVE application, but I have not received anything. What do I do?

  • First, check your spam or junk email folder(s). If you still can't find the request, it likely means that the email address linked to your PAVE account is one you no longer have access to.

  • If you no longer have access to the email address linked to your PAVE account or are unsure which email address is associated with it, please contact PAVE at 866-252-1949 for help recovering your account. Please note that no "Forgot Password" option is available on the login page.

Do I need to provide Grow Therapy with my PAVE username & password?

You are welcome to share your PAVE username and password with our Enrollment Team. They will be happy to update your account with the email address we have on file for you and resend the request for you to e-sign your application

Alternatively, you can log into your PAVE account and update the email associated with your account. Please notify the Enrollment Team after you've updated your account, and they will resend the request so you can e-sign your application.

What happens next once I e-sign my application?

The Enrollment Team has been informed that your e-signatures are received, and they will start processing your application.

How will I be notified if there are errors in the application?

If California Medi-Cal finds an error in the application or requires additional information, a Request for Information will be sent to Grow Therapy to complete. If the Enrollment Team requires further information or clarification to answer the Request for Information, they will email you directly.

How long will it be before I'm approved once the application has been submitted?

The standard processing time for California Medi-Cal is 180 days after submission. If you have questions about your application, contact the Enrollment Team at provider-credentialing@growtherapy.com.

What happens once I'm approved?

When the application has been processed and approved by California Medi-Cal, you will be automatically enrolled in all the Medi-Cal Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) Grow Therapy works with in California. This will be reflected on the Grow Therapy platform to track when you're ready to start seeing Connecticut clients with Medicaid.

Is California Medi-Cal available on the platform?

Yes, California Medi-Ca is live and active and can be utilized as a benefit on the Grow Therapy platform. This means providers enrolled in California Medi-Ca can see clients who are part of our designated Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) that partner with California Medi-Cal.

How often do I need to revalidate my information?

Providers must revalidate their information with Medi-Cal every five years. All state Medicaids require this to ensure enrollment information is accurate and up-to-date. You will receive notifications 90 days before your revalidation due date, with instructions on performing the revalidation.
