Learn more about the enrollment process for Connecticut Medicaid as a Grow Therapy provider.

Updated over 2 months ago

Grow Therapy does not allow providers to bill directly with Medicare or Medicaid. Instead, Grow works with Managed Care plans, which require separate enrollment processes from the state. If you choose to enroll with and see Medicare or Medicaid clients, Grow automatically enrolls you with the Managed Care plans available in your licensed state(s).

Key Takeaways

  • Grow Therapy providers are not automatically enrolled in Medicaid. You must indicate your interest in enrollment by completing this form.

  • Grow Therapy's Enrollment Team communicates crucial information and next steps via email, so please ensure provider-credentialing@growtherapy.com is added to your contacts list.

  • Connecticut NPs have to meet specific requirements to be enrolled with Connecticut Medicaid.

  • Providers must revalidate their information with Medicaid every five years.

FAQs

Will I automatically be enrolled with Connecticut Medicaid?

No, Grow Therapy will only enroll a provider with Connecticut Medicaid if:

  • You meet all Connecticut Medicaid requirements.

  • You have informed Grow Therapy you are interested in working with Medicaid clients. You can update your Medicaid preferences here.

What provider types are eligible for enrollment with Connecticut Medicaid?

All Grow Therapy provider types are eligible for enrollment with Connecticut Medicaid through Grow Therapy, except for MDs and DOs. Additionally, Connecticut Medicaid does not allow for dual-specialty enrollment, and this may impact you if either of the below scenarios applies to you:

  • If you are a Nurse Practitioner who performs psychiatric/mental health care through Grow Therapy but functions as a different subspecialty for another practice, such as a Family NP. In this case, you cannot enroll with Connecticut Medicaid under both specialties.

  • If you previously enrolled with Connecticut Medicaid under a different subspecialty, we cannot enroll you under Grow Therapy until you contact Connecticut Medicaid and change your specialty. However, this would preclude you from seeing Connecticut Medicaid clients under that original specialty.

  • If you have previously enrolled with Connecticut Medicaid under a different license type or specialty that currently is not eligible to work with Grow Therapy, such as a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. In that case, we cannot enroll you under Grow Therapy until you contact Connecticut Medicaid and change your specialty. However, this would preclude you from seeing Connecticut Medicaid clients under that original specialty or license type.

What documentation does the Connecticut Medicaid application require?

Upon initiating your Connecticut Medicaid application, the Credentialing Team will email you a form to complete. This form will ask you various questions to ensure you meet the requirements for participation with Connecticut Medicaid and invite you to complete the Behavioral Health Attestation.

What is the Behavioral Health Attestation?

The Connecticut Medical Assistance Program has implemented a new Behavioral Health Attestation requirement for all Behavioral Health providers who wish to see Medicaid members. The attestation requires that all new Behavioral Health providers have watched the Independent Practice Licensed Behavioral Health Clinicians Training video found here and understand the requirements set forth.

How do I complete the Behavioral Health Attestation?

If you are new to Connecticut Medicaid:

Grow Therapy will send you a form that includes the attestation document. You must sign this document and attest that you have watched the training video and understand the requirements. Once you've signed this and returned it to Grow Therapy, it will be submitted along with your Connecticut Medicaid application to serve as your Behavioral Health Attestation.

If you were previously enrolled in Connecticut Medicaid:

Before the Behavioral Health Attestation is enacted, you must log in to your Connecticut Medicaid account through their provider portal if you have not yet completed the attestation.

  • Once logged in, a header will be titled "Behavioral Health Attestation." You must access and follow the prompts to confirm you have watched the training video and understand the requirements.

  • If you are having difficulty accessing your Connecticut Medicaid provider account, please call the Provider Assistance Center at 800-842-8440, and they will help reset your account.

How is the application submitted?

Once the Grow Therapy Credentialing Team has received all applicable documents or information and the Behavioral Health Attestation has been completed, we will submit your application through the Connecticut Medicaid Enrollment Portal.

Does a new application need to be submitted if I've previously credentialed with Connecticut Medicaid?

Yes. Even if you have previously enrolled with Connecticut Medicaid before joining Grow Therapy, the team will still need to ensure your Behavioral Health Attestation is completed and submit a request to affiliate you with Grow Therapy. In this case, your request will be more simplified and expedited versus enrolling with Connecticut Medicaid as a new provider.

How will I be notified if there are errors in the application?

If Connecticut Medicaid finds an error in the application or requires additional information, a Request for Information will be sent to Grow Therapy to complete. If the Enrollment Team requires further information or clarification to answer the Request for Information, they will email you directly.

How long will it be before I'm approved once the application has been submitted?

The standard processing time for Connecticut Medicaid is 60 days after submission. If you have questions about your application, contact the Enrollment Team at provider-credentialing@growtherapy.com.

Is there a Connecticut Medicaid Provider Portal I need access to or register for?

Yes, if you were enrolled with Connecticut Medicaid before joining Grow Therapy, you should ensure that you have access to your individual provider portal account to perform the Behavioral Health Attestation and any future revalidations.

If you are new to Connecticut Medicaid: Once your enrollment is approved and you are In-Network with Connecticut Medicaid, they will mail you a letter with instructions on registering for an account through their portal.

We encourage you to set up your account to manage the information and revalidations associated with your enrollment record.

What happens once I'm approved?

When the application has been processed and approved by Connecticut Medicaid, this will be reflected on the Grow Therapy platform so you can track when you're ready to start seeing Connecticut clients with Medicaid.

How often do I need to revalidate my information?

Providers must revalidate their information with Medicaid every five years. All state Medicaids require this to ensure enrollment information is accurate and up-to-date. You will receive notifications 90 days before your revalidation due date, with instructions on performing the revalidation.
