Medallion: Grow's new credentialing partner and what to expect

Learn what Medallion is, what to expect from the transition, and how to set up your account.

Grow is partnering with Medallion to help manage your ongoing credentialing. If you're already credentialed with Grow, nothing about your current status is changing, and you don't need to start over. Your enrollment statuses with payors, your CAQH profile, and how we complete payor enrollments remain unchanged.

What is Medallion?

Medallion is a credentialing management platform. It helps keep your credentialing requirements up to date, including your CAQH profile, malpractice coverage, and licensure.

Why is Grow making this change?

We're upgrading our internal credentialing tools to move faster and make the process smoother for both new and existing providers.

When will I hear from Medallion?

We're rolling this out in phases, so not everyone will hear from Medallion or from us at the same time. Grow is sending announcements in batches from October 1 through October 21, and Medallion is sending invitations over the coming month. You should receive your welcome email from Medallion no later than November 1.

What do I need to do?

  1. Watch for the welcome email from Medallion. It will come from noreply@medallion.co. Use the email address Grow has on file for you.

  2. Click Get Started in the email to open the Medallion platform through your unique link, and follow the instructions to set up your account.

  3. Review your information. Your account is pre-populated from your CAQH profile. Check it and fill in anything that's missing, such as your license or malpractice certificate. If something didn't come over, you can connect your CAQH profile, upload your resume so Medallion can scan it, or enter the details manually.

  4. Complete the disclosure questions and sign the credentialing attestations.

What information might I be asked for?

Much of this may already be filled in from your CAQH profile. Medallion may ask you to confirm or add:

  • Basic information: your legal name and any other names you've used, permanent address (not a PO Box), mailing address, and NPI and taxonomy code

  • Education, training, and work history: including a written explanation for any gap in work history longer than 6 months within the last 5 years

  • License: an active license for each state you're credentialed in

  • Malpractice insurance: an active policy with at least 5 days remaining before it expires, FTCA coverage with a certificate, or a signed uninsured attestation. If you upload a certificate of insurance, it should show both the group name and your name.

  • Disclosure questions: all answered, with an explanation for any "yes"

  • Agreements: signed in the platform. Please don't upload a copy of your signature.

  • Prescribers only: DEA certificate (physicians and mid-level providers) and controlled substances questions

Requirements can vary by state, payor, and provider type. If Medallion needs anything else, it will assign you a task.

What are tasks?

A task is a request for additional information that Medallion assigns to you in the platform. State boards and payors may request additional information at any time, so you may receive tasks after your profile is complete. If you have email notifications turned on, Medallion emails you when a new task is assigned, when your specialist sends you a note or reply, and when it sends a weekly report of your outstanding tasks. Log in to view the details, and mark the task complete when you're done.

Is there a deadline?

There isn't a set deadline for existing providers. However, we need you to complete your information before your re-credentialing date. Medallion will send you reminders for any outstanding tasks, and you'll receive communications before your re-credentialing date to complete anything still open.

Could this delay my credentialing or enrollment?

No. We're managing this transition carefully to avoid any disruption to timelines. Our enrollment processes are not changing, nor is your status with payors.

Is Medallion owned by CAQH or DataSpring?

No. Medallion is a separate company. We use CAQH as a data source to pull your information into Medallion.

I got an email from Medallion. Is it legitimate?

Medallion sends account invites on Grow's behalf from noreply@medallion.co. If you're unsure, contact provider-credentialing@growtherapy.com before entering any information.

I haven't received anything yet. Is something wrong?

Because we're rolling this out in phases, some providers will hear from us later than others. You should receive your Medallion welcome email no later than November 1. If you haven't received it by then, check your spam or junk folder, then contact provider-credentialing@growtherapy.com.
