Disclaimer: As an independent contractor, you are responsible for keeping track of your earnings and accurately reporting them in tax filings. If you have questions about what to report on your taxes, please consult a tax professional. Grow Therapy cannot provide you with tax advice, nor can we verify the accuracy of any publicly available tax guidance online.

Before you begin

  1. If you earned $600 or more in 2025 on the Grow Therapy platform, you'll receive a 1099-NEC form from Grow's payment processing partner, Stripe.

  2. All providers meeting the $600 or more earnings requirement will receive one 1099-NEC form regardless of the business tax classification selected (i.e., "exempt recipients"). This 1099-NEC will be created utilizing the tax information confirmed in your Stripe Express dashboard. All earnings from Grow in 2025 will be populated in this one form.

Timeline expectations

All providers earning $600 or more in 2025 will receive an email from Stripe regarding their 1099 by mid-January 2026. Emails will be sent out in phases to providers starting in November 2025.

Initiating November 2025

  • Stripe will email you asking to confirm your tax information (e.g., name, address, SSN, or EIN) and delivery preferences. The subject line will read, "Get your Grow Therapy 2025 tax forms faster by enabling e-delivery."

  • To ensure you receive your 1099 quickly, you can opt into paperless delivery by agreeing to receive your 1099 tax form electronically via Stripe Express.

    • Note: If you cannot locate the email from Stripe in your primary inbox, please double-check your spam, junk, or promotions folder.

January 31st, 2026

  • If you agree to paperless delivery, your 1099 tax form will be available to download via Stripe Express. Otherwise, your 1099 tax form will be mailed to you. If you don't receive an email from Stripe or don't agree to paperless delivery, please allow up to 10 business days for mail delivery.

  • Grow Therapy will file your 1099 tax form with the IRS and relevant state tax authorities.

April 15th, 2026

The IRS deadline for filing individual tax returns is April 15th. If your filing status is eligible for a 1099, you'll need it to file your taxes by this date.

Tax form FAQs

What is a 1099-NEC tax form?

1099-NEC forms are federal income tax information forms that report earnings and proceeds other than wages, salaries, and tips (reported on the federal W-2 form). The forms are filed with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and, if required, state tax departments. A 1099-NEC form summarizes earnings as independent contractors in the U.S. It's provided to you, the IRS, and certain U.S. states if you earn $600 or more in 2025.

Will I receive a 1099-NEC form?

Eligible providers who earn $600 or more in 2025 will receive 1099-NEC. If you did not meet the minimum earnings threshold, you might still receive a 1099 if your state requires a form to be completed and submitted for less than $600.

Please note: Due to varying processing times for direct deposits and insurance claims, payouts initiated in mid to late December 2025 may be considered part of your earnings for 2026. If you are close to reaching the $600 threshold for 2025 and do not receive a 1099 form, please check your earnings history to see if any payments from the end of the year have been carried over to 2026.

What tax forms will be sent to providers?

The only tax form eligible providers will receive is the 1099-NEC, which is only for providers who earn $600 or more on the Grow Therapy platform in 2025. Providers who earn less will not receive a 1099 form.

How do I download my 1099 tax form?

If you have a Stripe Express account and agree to paperless delivery, Stripe will email you to let you know when your 1099 tax form is available for download via Stripe Express. If you do not elect paperless delivery, Stripe will mail you a paper copy of your 1099 tax form. Please allow up to 10 business days for delivery and plan accordingly.

Why is Stripe requesting my Social Security number (SSN), Employer Identification Number (EIN), or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)?

Your SSN, EIN, or ITIN is required to file your 1099 tax form with the IRS and relevant state tax authorities.

View earnings history

How do I view my 2025 earnings history?

Providers do not need to calculate their 2025 earnings themselves. Your total earnings will be indicated on your 1099 form. However, if you'd like to estimate your earnings before receiving your 1099 form:

  • Click here or navigate to your Payments dashboard in your provider portal.

  • Access the drop-down menu in the "Paid" section and adjust the timeframe to "This year."

  • Alternatively, log in to your Stripe Express Dashboard by selecting the Visit Stripe Dashboard button in the upper right.

Please note: Providers who migrated to Stripe Express in 2025 will have earnings history in Stripe Express and Stripe Standard. Please see the instructions below on accessing historical earnings from each account.

How do I view my Stripe Standard earnings history?

If you created your Stripe Express account using the same login as your previous Stripe Standard account, you can switch between the two accounts by logging into Stripe and selecting the drop-down menu in the top left corner of your Stripe Dashboard.

Providers whose Stripe Express account was created under a different login should sign out of Stripe Express and log in to their Stripe Standard account to view historical earnings.
