The ideal Equip client

Equip works with a number of different clients to support eating disorder recovery. The section below reviews elements to consider when referring a client to Equip. Clients who are outside of this criteria may not be a good fit. The Care Coordination Team will support providers to identify other programs that may be a better fit.

  • Client age: All ages

  • Diagnoses: A diagnosis of an eating disorder. Co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, and OCD can also be addressed in treatment.

  • Acuity: Moderate and severe

  • Insurance: See the list of insurance companies accepted by Equip here.

What participants can expect

Equip's goal is to provide individuals with the support and treatment they need to manage an eating disorder diagnosis and achieve lasting recovery. The Equip team will assess the client’s needs and develop a treatment plan specific to the client's clinical presentation.

Program structure

  • Treatment is tailored to each client based on their clinical presentation and severity.

  • Equip will complete a screening, intake, and medical appointment to help assess best treatment options.

  • Each client is matched with a multi-disciplinary team composed of a licensed therapist, registered dietitian, medical provider, and peer support.

  • Treatment may include medical assistance, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and peer support.

  • Treatment is more intensive at the onset, but as progress is made and clients stabilize sessions may become less frequent. Due to symptom severity, clients spend an average of 51 weeks in treatment.

  • Support clients with developing a relapse prevention plan.
