Update your personal information

Learn how to update your personal information, including your preferred name, pronouns, address, and phone number.

The client portal allows you to change your chosen first name, pronouns, phone number, residential address, and, with one-time permission, your email address. Keeping this information accurate is an important part of your care journey. It ensures that you'll continue to receive important communications from Grow Therapy and your provider regarding your account, appointments, and broader care plan.

  • Go to Account → About Me in your client portal to update your personal, contact, and residential information.

  • Legal name, date of birth, and gender cannot be edited directly. Contact Support to update these details for proper verification.

  • Email addresses can only be changed once in the portal. Any additional updates must be handled by the Support Team, and verification is required via email.

  • Keep your residential address current, especially if moving out of state, as telehealth regulations vary by location.

Update your personal information


To update your personal information from your client portal dashboard:

  • Select the Account option from the sidebar menu.

  • Select the About Me tab.

  • Update the desired information, then click Save at the bottom of the page.

⚠️ Important: Your legal name, date of birth, and gender can't be edited directly — contact Support to update these details. Verification is required to prevent billing or insurance disruptions.


Update your contact information


To update your contact information using your client portal:

  • Select Account from the sidebar menu.

  • Select the About Me tab and scroll to the "Contact Information" section.

To change your email on file:

⚠️ Important: You can only update your email address once. Any additional change requests must go through the Support Team.

  • Select the Change email link via the "Contact information" section.

  • Enter your new email in both email fields.

  • Make sure to select Save and send verification.

  • Check your inbox for a verification link, then click it to confirm your new email and log back in.

To change your phone number on file:

  • Enter the phone number you'd like to use in the appropriate field.

  • Scroll down and select Save.


Update your residential information


Your residential address should reflect the state where you receive care. If you're moving out of state, even temporarily, you must notify your provider due to telehealth regulations.

To update your residential information:

  • Select the Account option from the sidebar menu.

  • Select the About Me tab.

  • Scroll down to the "Residential Information" section and fill in your address fields.

  • Click Save.

Frequently asked questions


What personal information can I update on my own? You can update your chosen first name, pronouns, phone number, residential address, and email address (once) directly in the client portal under Account → About Me.

Why can't I edit my legal name, date of birth, or gender? These fields require identity verification to prevent billing and insurance disruptions. Contact our Support Team and they'll walk you through the update process.

What happens if I need to change my email more than once? The portal only allows one self-serve email change. For any additional updates, reach out to the Support Team directly.

Why does my address need to reflect where I receive care? Telehealth is regulated at the state level, so your provider must be licensed in the state where you're located during sessions. If you move, even temporarily, updating your address and notifying your provider helps ensure there's no interruption to your care.

I updated my information but it doesn't look right. What should I do? If your changes didn't save correctly, try refreshing the page and repeating the steps. If the issue persists, contact Support for help.
