Finding the right therapist can take time, and it's completely normal if the first provider you meet isn't the right fit. There are a few ways to get matched with someone new: you can search on your own, use a provider referral, or get personalized help from our Client Success Team.
⚠️ Important: Switching to a new provider does not automatically cancel any upcoming appointments with your current provider. Before or during your transition, make sure to cancel any scheduled sessions with your current provider to avoid late cancellation fees. You can do this directly through your client portal or by messaging your provider.

Before you switch
A few things to know before starting the rematch process:
You'll need to complete a new intake form. Intake forms are completed once per provider, so your new provider will ask you to fill one out before or during your first session. Your previously submitted forms remain accessible in your portal under Account → Forms.
Your session history stays with you. Switching providers doesn't erase your record — past sessions, charges, and documents remain visible in your portal.
Your new provider sets the schedule. Session frequency (weekly, biweekly, etc.) is determined by you and your new provider based on your goals, so you won't automatically carry over the same cadence.
Search for a new provider in the Marketplace
The Grow Therapy Marketplace gives you access to our full provider directory. If you applied limited filters during your initial search, try refining by insurance, specialty, modality, or availability to surface providers you may have missed. Once you find a provider who meets your needs, you can schedule a session using the standard booking process.
Request a rematch by phone
The Client Success Team is dedicated to supporting you throughout the rematching process. To speak with the team and get matched with a new provider, call (929) 502-2635. The Client Success Team is available from 8 AM to 7 PM ET, Monday through Friday.
Book with a recommended provider
Your provider may offer referrals based on your specific needs. In addition to receiving a referral link by email, you can also access referrals anytime through the messaging feature or directly from your client portal dashboard.

Select your provider's name to open the message thread.
Click the referral link provided in the message.
A new tab will open with a list of recommended providers.
Review the provider profiles to find one who fits your needs.
Book directly through the provider’s profile, or click Find a different provider to continue your search.
Frequently asked questions
Will my new provider have access to my previous provider's notes? No. Clinical notes are private to the provider who wrote them and are not transferred when you switch. Your session history, charges, and submitted forms remain visible to you in your portal, but your new provider will start fresh, which is why the intake form is required.
Can I switch providers more than once? Yes. There's no limit on rematching. If a provider isn't the right fit, you can go through the rematch process again at any time.
How long does the rematch process take? If you're searching the Marketplace or using a referral link, you can book with a new provider right away. If you request a rematch by phone, the Client Success Team will follow up to help connect you with someone new.
