Grow AI Summarization | Prescribers

Explore how Grow's expanding range of AI summarization features can help simplify your documentation process.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Grow team is excited to expand the AI Notes Summarization feature to prescribers' accounts. According to initial data, providers who use these features see a 57% decrease in time spent on notes. Using these tools gives you back time in your workday, so you can focus more on client care.

What are AI-enabled session summaries?

AI-enabled session summaries are an optional feature that generates initial draft content for your intake and progress notes based on your telehealth sessions. You retain full control by reviewing, editing, and approving each piece of content before submitting your note. This approach streamlines documentation and ensures your clinical judgment remains at the forefront.

Is this compliant with billing and documentation requirements?

Yes, when used properly. You are responsible for ensuring your final note is accurate, complete, and meets all billing and compliance standards before submission. The AI assists with drafting content, but your review and approval ensure the note complies. Reference Grow's "Clinical considerations for using AI" PDF for detailed guidance on staying compliant.

Do all prescriber note templates have AI capabilities?

Not at this time. AI-enabled session summaries are now available for notes in the new intake and progress note templates.

Generated notes

How do I use the AI-generated notes?

Begin the documentation process as you normally would. Sessions successfully transcribed by AI will have a "Complete" status next to the "AI suggestions" section of the left-side panel.

AI suggestions that are pre-filled based on the session transcript will be marked with a purple ✨ icon, as illustrated below. You may still modify each field as needed by editing or removing the information provided by the AI summary.

Do I have to use it for every note?

No, this is entirely optional. You can toggle it on or off at any time in your settings. You can also choose to use it for certain sessions and not others. Your usual note workflow remains accessible whenever you prefer to record notes manually.

How do I make sure psychotherapy is documented correctly for billing?

Clearly verbalize during your session when you're transitioning into and out of psychotherapy versus medication management. For example, saying "Now we'll move into the psychotherapy portion" helps the AI accurately capture these distinctions. Follow our psychotherapy documentation best practices for additional guidance.

How accurate is the AI-generated content?

The AI generates draft content based on what was discussed in the session. The quality depends partially on audio clarity and how clearly you verbalize clinical details during the session. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content for accuracy, editing as necessary, and ensuring that the final note reflects your clinical judgment and complies with standards before submission.

What if the AI gets something wrong?

Review and edit all AI-generated content before submitting your note. If you find any inaccuracies or missing information, correct them as you would in a regular draft. You maintain full clinical control at all times. If you encounter ongoing quality issues, provide feedback using the in-product mechanism so we can enhance the tool.

How much of the generated note should I edit?

You can edit as much of the note as you need to ensure its accuracy and completeness.

Why do I see an error for the AI-enabled summary?

The AI-enabled summary will display an error if the recorded session length is too short. This may occur due to disconnects, a participant pausing the transcription, or, in the unlikely event of an outage with our system.
