Learn how to contact clients via secure messaging in Grow Therapy.

The messaging feature brings safe, secure, HIPAA-compliant communication and file-sharing to Grow Therapy.

Before you begin


Please note the following before using the messaging feature:

  • You and your clients can share messages and files within your Grow Therapy accounts. All communication is encrypted and HIPAA-compliant.

  • You and your clients are notified about new messages in Grow Therapy and via email, so there's no need to worry about missing replies.

  • The messaging tool is not intended for emergency or crisis communication. Instead, it is intended for between-session communication, including:

    • Appointment confirmations or change requests

    • Progress updates, feedback, insights, and check-ins

    • Reminders for an upcoming appointment, such as the session topics

    • Secure document transfers, such as questionnaires, worksheets, records, etc.

    • Finally, select the Send button when the message is complete.

  • Clients needing to discuss billing, insurance, and other non-clinical issues should still contact support.

With this information in mind, there are two ways to contact clients via secure messaging, and both are covered below.


Send a message


Messages dashboard

To contact a client using the messages dashboard:

  • Navigate to the Messages dashboard via the sidebar.

  • Select the New Client Message option at the top right.

  • Select the desired client from the dropdown menu in the Compose message prompt and select the Next button.

  • Next, input your message into the Compose a message field and add an attachment using the Attachment πŸ“Ž button if needed. The attachments feature supports the following file types: PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, DOC/DOCX, and CSV.

  • Finally, select the Send button when the message is complete.

The message is now sent and will appear in the messages dashboard of the client's Grow Therapy account. Additionally, the client will receive an email notification.

Use the messages dashboard to send a message

Client profile

To contact a client from their profile:

  • Navigate to the Clients dashboard via the sidebar.

  • Search for the desired client and select their name.

  • Select the Message client button at the top right of the client's profile.

  • On the Messages screen, input your message into the Compose a message field and add an attachment using the Attachment πŸ“Ž button if needed. The attachments feature supports PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, DOC/DOCX, and CSV files.

  • Finally, select the Send button when the message is complete.

The message is now sent and will appear in the messages dashboard of the client's Grow Therapy account. Additionally, the client will receive an email notification.
