Pre-session prep | Grow Telehealth

Learn how Grow surfaces client information in key provider portal access points to help you prepare for sessions.

Pre-session prep consolidates client information you already have, such as completed measures and recent client activity, into a single view to help you prepare for your upcoming session. This data is accessible in key sections of your provider portal, such as the appointment panel and Telehealth room, offering a quicker overview of important details that were previously spread across multiple tabs.

🛠 Feature notice: Pre-session prep information is only available to therapists and adult clients 18 and older.


How pre-session prep works


Which appointments are eligible for the Pre-Session Prep?

Both Telehealth and in-person follow-up appointments are eligible. Pre-session prep is not generated for minors or prescribers. For any access outside of the Telehealth experience, providers will need to check their Provider Portal directly.

Can I turn this feature off?

No. You cannot turn this feature off in your provider portal, but using the feature in your practice is optional.

When is the summary generated?

The summary is generated the night before the appointment. Providers will see the timestamp of its generation. We will show you the latest version that was created.

What information does the summary include?

Follow-up appointments include relevant information from your most recent note and highlights of between-session client activity, including measures and session topics. The content will be presented as bullet points with optional links to explore in a deeper context.

What should providers do if something in the summary impacts client care?

By default, Pre-Session Prep is not part of the medical record. However, if you choose to use a Pre-Session Prep to make a clinical decision, you should record that in your notes.

What happens if an appointment is rescheduled?

If new client data is submitted after the reschedule, the summary will regenerate automatically.

Is the pre-session prep available after an appointment?

No, it’s primarily intended to be leveraged to prepare for an upcoming appointment.

Your Dashboard is the first access point for pre-visit summaries and session prep information. To access your pre-session prep information for an upcoming appointment:

  • Click here or log in to your provider portal to access your Dashboard.

  • From the "Upcoming today" section, select an appointment you wish to preview.

  • The appointment prep panel will open, allowing you to access the session prep materials.

  • From here, you can quickly navigate through a client's OverviewClient Activity, and Treatment tabs to review any relevant information before your session.


Prep in Grow Telehealth


To access pre-session prep information before a Grow Telehealth session:

  • Access your Grow Telehealth meeting room by selecting Join meeting room from the "Your Practice" card on your Dashboard, or by joining from the appointment information on your calendar.

  • From here, your upcoming appointments for the day will be listed in chronological order. Select an appointment to access the session prep information.

Once your session starts, you can continue to access this information by referencing the Client info panel.
