Amazon employee benefits overview

Learn more about the Amazon–Grow Therapy employee offering.

Updated this week

Grow is proud to partner with Amazon as its preferred therapy provider for Amazon employees and their dependents. This guide provides an overview of the program and explains how to book your first appointment using your employee benefits.

Key Points

  • Amazon employees, their dependents, and eligible household members receive six free therapy sessions per issue per calendar year through the employee benefits program. Additional sessions to address a new issue may be requested by contacting Grow's support team.

  • Booking is simple and done through a dedicated Amazon link that allows you to select filters, browse matching providers, and schedule directly from the provider’s profile.

  • Insurance information is requested upfront to help match you with therapists for continued care after the free sessions. The first six sessions remain at no cost to you, regardless of insurance.

  • After the six sessions, clients can continue care via insurance or self-pay. Grow Therapy provides cost estimates and support for those transitioning to paid care.

Program overview

Amazon employees, their dependents, and eligible household members receive six complimentary therapy sessions per issue per calendar year, fully covered by Amazon, through the company's employee benefits. These therapy sessions offer a dedicated space to focus on your well-being with support from a provider who feels like the right fit.

Through this partnership, you can book with any Grow Therapy provider who:

  • Has opted in to support Amazon clients

  • Holds an active license in your state

If your insurance isn't one that Grow accepts (for example, if you're not using Amazon's health plan), you'll still receive your six complimentary sessions. If you choose to continue care with the same provider after using your sessions, you can pay out of pocket for future appointments.

Use Amazon employee benefits as a new client

Scheduling an appointment with your employee benefits is a simple and straightforward process. Here’s how to get started:

  • Use the search tool filters to select your state, insurance or self-pay preference, and any therapy needs or specialties.

🌟 Note: Providing your insurance details upfront helps us connect you with therapists who can continue working with you after your six free sessions are complete. These initial six sessions are always at no cost to you, regardless of your insurance coverage.

Confirm coverage
  • Select Insurance to add coverage details or Pay-out-of-pocket if you’re opting to self-pay. Click Continue.

  • If you're using insurance, select your insurance from the drop-down menu, enter your member ID, then select Verify & estimate cost to verify coverage. Click Continue.

Frequently asked questions

Getting started

  • I’m already using Grow. How do I receive my six free sessions? If you are an existing Grow client who is eligible for this Amazon benefit and want to start using your six free sessions, please reach out to our dedicated Support team by calling (646) 776-0587 or using the Help Widget in your client portal.

  • Can spouses, household members, or dependents use this benefit too? Yes. Each eligible household member receives their own set of free sessions. They can get started by visiting the Amazon booking page.

  • How can I sign my dependents up for therapy if they are minors? To register a minor for therapy, use the drop-down menu in the “Client information” section of the booking form to indicate that you are the parent or legal guardian. Then, enter the minor’s information. If they do not have an email address or phone number, you may provide your own. This information will be used as the primary method of communication between Grow Therapy and the client. Click here for more details.

Using your sessions

  • Am I required to stay with the same provider, or can I switch? You're not required to continue with one provider. You can switch at any time and use any remaining free sessions with any provider who accepts Amazon Benefits on Grow.

  • Are there late cancellation/no-show fees? No. Clients using Amazon employee benefits will not be billed for late cancellations or no-shows.

  • Do late cancellations or no-shows count against my session limit? No. Late cancellations or no-shows will not count toward your six free sessions.

  • Can providers on Grow prescribe medication? Some providers can prescribe medication, but your six free sessions cover only Talk Therapy. If you'd like to see a provider who offers medication management, you’ll need to use insurance or self-pay and book through Grow’s standard marketplace.

Payment, insurance, and privacy

  • What happens after my six free sessions? After your complimentary sessions, you can continue seeing your provider on either an insurance or self-pay basis. Grow Therapy will guide you through a smooth transition to your preferred payment method.

  • How much will additional sessions cost? The average cost per session with insurance is around $21, and you'll receive a personalized cost estimate before deciding to continue care.

  • Why do I need to enter my insurance information if the first six sessions are free? Grow Therapy requests your insurance details to match you with therapists who accept your plan if you choose to continue care after your free sessions. If you choose a provider who does not accept your insurance, you can opt to self-pay.

  • What do I do if my insurance isn’t listed? If your insurance isn't listed, select Continue without insurance. Your free sessions will still apply, and you may continue care afterward on a self-pay basis.

  • Can I apply my employee benefits to past sessions and receive a refund? No. The employee benefit can only be applied to sessions that occur after you have enrolled in the program. Sessions completed prior to enrollment—including those paid for through insurance or self-pay—are not eligible for retroactive coverage or refunds.

  • Can Amazon see any details about my sessions? No. Grow Therapy does not share session details or clinical notes with Amazon. We may share anonymized, aggregate usage data that cannot identify individual participants. All information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
