Contact clients using secure messaging

Learn how to reach clients through the secure messaging feature in your Grow Therapy provider portal.

The messaging feature enables safe and secure communication and file sharing between you and your clients through your Grow Therapy portal.


Before you begin


You and your clients can share messages and files within your Grow Therapy accounts. All communication is encrypted, and the team built the tool with HIPAA and applicable privacy law compliance in mind from the start.

Please note the following before using the messaging feature:

  • You and your clients are notified about new messages in Grow Therapy and via email, so there's no need to worry about missing replies.

  • The messaging tool is not intended for emergency or crisis communication. Instead, it is intended for between-session communication, including:

    • Appointment confirmations or change requests

    • Progress updates, feedback, insights, and check-ins

    • Reminders for an upcoming appointment, such as the session topics

    • Secure document transfers, such as questionnaires, worksheets, etc.

    • Finally, select the Send button when the message is complete.

  • Clients requiring assistance with billing, insurance, or other non-clinical matters should still contact support.

With this information in mind, there are two ways to contact clients via secure messaging, which are outlined below.

Messages dashboard

To contact a client using the messages dashboard:

  • Navigate to the Messages dashboard via the sidebar.

  • Select the Compose option at the top right.

  • Select the desired client from the dropdown menu in the "Compose message" prompt and select the Next button.

  • Next, input your message into the "Compose your message" field.

If you need to send an attachment, use the Attachment πŸ“Ž button. The attachments feature supports the following file types: PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, DOC/DOCX, and CSV.

  • Finally, select the Send button when the message is complete.

The message has been sent and will appear in the client's Grow Therapy account messages dashboard. Additionally, the client will receive an email notification.


Client profile

To contact a client from their profile:

  • Navigate to the Clients dashboard via the sidebar.

  • Search for the desired client and select their name.

  • Select the Message client button at the top right of the client's profile.

  • In the "Message [Client]" sidebar, input your message into the "Compose your message" field and add an attachment if needed.

  • Finally, select the Send button when the message is complete.

The message has been sent and will appear in the client's Grow Therapy account messages dashboard. Additionally, the client will receive an email notification.
