Sync your calendar with Grow Therapy

Learn how to sync your personal calendar(s) to your provider portal.

Updated over a month ago

Syncing a personal calendar to Grow Therapy is required to schedule appointments and accept new clients. Connecting your calendar(s) helps ensure you remain aware of all Grow Therapy appointment bookings while preventing unwanted double bookings. Any appointments or events on the synced calendar will appear unavailable on your Grow Therapy calendar.

Supported calendar services

Grow Therapy currently supports calendar syncing with the following calendar services:

  • Google Calendar

  • iCloud Calendar

  • Microsoft/Office 365

  • Exchange

  • Outlook.com

Sync your calendar

You will create a customized provider profile as part of your onboarding process. This initial setup includes syncing a calendar. To sync a calendar for the first time:

  • Log into your provider portal and complete the steps to create your provider profile.

  • Once you reach the "Calendar" section, select your calendar's service brand. If you're syncing an  Apple calendar, please review these additional instructions.

  • After completing the necessary steps to sync your primary calendar, select any secondary calendars you want Grow Therapy to read. While appointment events will not be added to these secondary calendars, the integration will check them for scheduling conflicts.

Select secondary calendars
  • Confirm your choices and select Continue. Your calendar is now synced. In the subsequent sections, you'll set your working hours and appointment details. After completing these steps, you will always have the option to edit these choices in your profile settings.

Please refer to this guide for a detailed overview of the calendar and its features.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sync more than one primary calendar?

No. You can only sync one primary calendar. However, additional calendars that are subscribed to by your primary calendar, often called secondary calendars, will be checked for conflicting events. Ensure you select the secondary calendars you'd like the Grow calendar to read and save your preferences.

Can clients see events on my calendar(s)?

No. Clients cannot see events on your calendar. Scheduled appointments populate as events on both your calendar and the client's, as seen in the Google Calendar example below. Appointment changes should be made in the Grow Therapy portal, not via synced calendar invitations.

How can I avoid double-booking myself while working for multiple platforms?

When a client tries to book an appointment with you through Grow, the calendar integration checks your synced calendars for any conflicts. However, there are situations where appointments from other platforms may not appear on your synced calendar immediately.

For instance, if a client schedules an appointment on a different platform, the event may not appear on your calendar until the start of the next hour or possibly longer. This unique situation can create an opportunity for a Grow Therapy client to book a time slot that appears available on your calendar at the time, which could later lead to a double booking. Unfortunately, this is something Grow cannot prevent or manage.
